Spring Semester 2009

Preserving Bible Times

Bible scroll

Doug Greenwold - Jan. 11, 2009
Our central thesis is that we should never ask what a passage means to us today until we first know what those words and phrases meant to those we meet in the Bible. Our emphasis is restoring the historical, cultural, literary and geographic context of a passage so we can understand it as a Middle Eastern villager would have first understood it. That gets us closer to the original meaning of a passage and therefore closer to the Spirit's intended transformation. (video)
